Mas Metal Makina's founder Mehmet Ekrekli (1936-2010) started his industrial adventure in 1945 with lathe work. Genetically close to technology and engineering mentality, he quickly specialized in motor maintenance. Mehmet Bey, one of the first motor masters in the country, became a certified master for brands like Land Rover and BMC. In 1978, in addition to continuing his motor repair mastery in Istanbul, he started production of new products such as automatic box taping machine, jib crane, and fabric glue bonding machine, which he developed with his own design. Due to the rapid development of the textile sector in those years, he produced bulk textile machinery. With the developing world and economy, his son and son-in-law, who received Mechanical Engineering education and completed his doctorate in the UK, decided to institutionalize their vocational knowledge and experience and founded Mas Metal Makina San.
