Tag cutting machines have long been known as the most widely used machines in industries. With a high number of users and demand, this machine appears with different processing and methods. Tag cutting machines, where new working principles are often preferred, work with a simple but effective principle. In tag cutting machines, the tag is usually folded by being passed over the folding unit. Before the folding unit is processed by thermo-fixing, it needs to be as far away from the tag as possible. However, in folding processes made with this method, slipping can occur. In some new techniques that are starting to be used, the folded tag is passed through thermo-fix without using a folding unit and is held under pressure until it cools. Tag bands are pulled from feeding rollers and transferred to the machine. In this method, where the tags are cut using a hot cutting blade, the tags are sent one by one automatically to the folding station. Tags reaching the folding station are lifted by a double staple. When the moving top rods touch the staple, the rods open. At this time, the certain edges of the tag to be folded are creased. When the creases on the edges meet with both folding rods, the edges are neatly folded. The edges of the folded tag are held under pressure by a spring applied to the top and bottom folding rods. There are thermo-fix units where the heating of the inner sides of the folding rods can be programmed. In order for there to be enough time for cooling and heating processes even at high speeds, in most machines, 8 folding elements are placed on 2 rotating wheels, which generally move in the same pattern. Machine adjustments that can easily be made, through the combined operation of light sensors and electronic control conveying mechanism, allow tags to go through a cutting process marked by a significant color change or along regions marked for cutting. With this system, in addition to being able to properly adjust the new tag lengths of the machine, no additional mechanical intervention is required. The user can easily adjust the machine to a new product by tracking the options in the control panel. Other adjustments such as folding type, thermo-fix time setting can also be selected and made through the control panel. At the same time, the data that has been set can be saved here, and when the same product is to be processed again, these data can be reused. In this way, handling of tags within the process or keeping them under process can be easily done with a single button press. With many folding elements placed on the rotating wheels on the top plate, high-speed processes ensure that enough time can be allocated for the processes related to thermo-fix and cooling. The folding step of the folding supported by a pre-heating step. In this way, the machine offers both high-speed operation and an excellent folding quality beyond the users' expectations. Apart from these, it is possible to look into different ways and parts of the machine through some options. These can be listed as follows:

  • Magazine with automatic change, the machine can be unloaded from a pre-stacked product while the machine is running.
  •  Direct stacking on cardboard base or filling into automatic bags without stacking
  •  Belt entry on the magazine side
  • Perfectly cut, folded and stacked tags are provided with the movement of the cutting blade by a stepper motor.
  • Speeds of closing and opening, as well as cutting time, can be selected via the control panel and stored securely in data format per product.
  • All machine speeds ranging from the slowest operating speed to the fastest one maintain the same cutting conditions and quality in the same setting and proportion.
  • Tensioned or pulling tag bands are generally prone to slipping during cutting process, which causes the folding to slip. For correction, the material feed table and cutting blade can be adjusted crosswise with a single hand movement.
  • Tags that fall outside the adjustable length tolerances are automatically separated.
  • A stepper motor ensures the centralization of tags to the folding rods. A multiple stacking comb, which works simultaneously with a pair of holders, ensures the tags to be neatly and orderly visible when the magazine box is lowered.

Features of the Tag Cutting Machine:

Generally, most tag machines have common features. Depending on the price, model, and brand, tag machine features, which can vary slightly, can be listed as follows:

  • Processable materials are divided into PAPER, PET, PP, TNT, BOPP as alternatives
  • In general, tag machines are manufactured in accordance with S IEC EN 60825/1 standard.
  • Welded steel structure with high stability and vibration-free structure
  • Possibility of having a single (mono) or two (double) laser units, providing cabin opportunity for the 350x350mm working surface
  • Possibility of later installation of a second laser unit.
  • Optional laser output: 150W, 250W
  • Possibility of a touch screen PC
  • Presence of a waste grid removal unit with a retraction mechanism, 76 mm shaft, retractable with compressed air
  • Strengthened with a gluing station with a pressing device and a blade guide
  • Presence of a rolling unit
  • Servo motor with torque volume and variable tension control.
  • 76 mm shaft, retractable with compressed air
  • Presence of a rewinding unit.
  • Servo motor with torque volume and variable tension control.
  • Capability to electronically monitor the diameter of the roller for traction control
  • 76 mm shaft, retractable with compressed air
  • Electronic control of part command, control sensitivity of 0.1mm
  • ICARO Software: Formats such as DXF, AI, PDF, EPS, BMP, JPG, etc., automatic vector optimization, cutting processes being controlled continuously (step by step), sequential numbering, serialization and integration with databases

Advantages of the Tag Cutting Machine:

Tag cutting machines continue to be used in many fields for years. Their preference over old tag cutting methods, which provide many more advantages by providing machine power, is one of the main reasons for their choice. Briefly and summarily, listing these reasons can be as follows:

  • Providing high production performance
  • Holding an extremely straight and orderly folding with fixed pressure
  • Requiring less maintenance
  • In addition to the middle, edge, Booklet, and Manhattan folds, offering the ability to cut without folding
  • Machine settings can easily be made through the Teach-In method within a few minutes without stacking long tags
  • Not requiring mechanical adjustments even though the folding mode is changed
  • Ability to save product-specific data, and the ability to store and reuse this data
  • Automatic magazine change when the desired number of tags is reached per magazine
  • Not requiring a compressed air supply
  • Having a consistent cutting quality, unaffected by machine speed
  • Lateral belt entry, adjustability of material feed table for correction
  • Easy to use automatic length measurement mechanism to separate incorrect tags
  • Automatically transferring tags to the folding rods in a centered manner
  • Availability of multi-stacking modes per magazine and easy marking capability for separation of tags from each other
  • Presence of a tag band corrector at the machine entrance
  • Special cutting area determination sensor for very thin or blurry bands
  • Presence of an additional cold cutting unit
  • Presence of an ultrasonic cutting unit
  • Presence of belt entry from the magazine
  • Presence of automatic magazine change
  • Presence of a cartoning device
  • Special design for non-standard electrical grids
