Founded in 1914 in Adapazarı as DA-TA Iron Car - Wooden Car factory, Başak Tractor, affiliated with the Turkish Agricultural Equipment Corporation with the title SAZ (Sakarya Agricultural Equipment) until 1944, continued to meet all the agricultural tools and machinery and other needs of Turkish farmers. Starting to carry out the import of Ford brand tractors since 1962, Başak Tractor has demonstrated its manufacturing success with a local production rate of 65% in Adapazarı within the framework of the cooperation with Ford starting from 1968. As per the agreement with the STEYR company in 1976, tractor production started under the STEYR brand and continued producing tractors under the BAŞAK brand starting from 1996. Başak Tractor joined Sanko Group in 2012. Located in Sakarya, the factory produces on 40,000 m² closed area on 275,000 m² land. With an annual production capacity of 10,000 units, the main components of the tractor, the engine, transmission, and hydraulic hardware are processed and produced at the Başak Tractor factory. Başak Tractor, with around 20 models in different segments, provides farmers with the most economical use thanks to its low fuel consumption, requiring less maintenance, domestic tractors, thus increasing the quality of service. Under the SANKO umbrella, Başak Tractor, with a widespread sales and service network throughout Turkey and an easily accessible, economically viable spare parts stock, continues to be with farmers.
