Atılım Makina Urea Formaldehyde Resin Produce Plants
We produce this system turnkey.
- This Project include the production of the formaldehyde ,urea-formaldehyde precondensate ( UFC -80 ) and Urea-formaldehyde resins,melamin-urea-formaldehyde resin and melamin-formaldehyde resin , which are using as bonding for particle-board,plywood,MDF and also paper impregnation.
This plant can consider four main sections..
a - ) Formaldehyde and UFC -80 production.
b - ) Urea-Formaldehyde productions.( MDF )
c - ) Impregnation resins productions.
d - ) Utilities and storage.
A - FORMALDEHYDE PRODUCTION
Formaldehyde can produce oxidation of the methanol with oxygen.
CH3OH + ½ O 2 ………………………….CH2O + H2O + 38 Kcal
Methanol and air are sent to the formaldehyde oxidation reactor as vapour.
Formaldehyde oxidation reactor has 14.000 units tubes and these tubes contain iron molibden oxide as cataylst.
Methanol turns to formaldehyde during the passing through the catalyst.
Formaldehyde are sent to absorption column to get solution.
Absorption column is supplied with water or urea solution. If needs to production of UFC – 80 absorption column must supply with urea solution.
B – UREA-FORMALDEHYDE PRODUCTION ( MDF)
Formaldehyde get into the special reactors. Adjusting pH , first step urea loading
the reactor. First occurs methylol groups with basic pH and after condensation reaction with asidic pH.
After asidic reaction needs to add second urea .To adjust the solid content ,it needs to take water with vacuum system.
If needs powder urea-formaldehyde ,without vacuum product send to waiting tank and after spray drying column.
CH2O + 2HN – CO – NH2 ………OHCH2 – NH – CO – NH2 Monomethylol urea
+ CH2O …….. OHCH2 – NH – CO – NH – CH2OH Dimethylol urea + Asid
NH2 – CO – NH – CH2 – NH – CO – NH –
C – IMPREGNATION RESINS PRODUCTIONS
There are two kinds of impregnation resin for decorpaper,overlay and balance paper.
Urea-Formaldehyde resin % 50 Solid content
Melamin-Formaldehyde resin % 54 Solid content
Formaldehyde solution can load the reactor and adjust concentration with process
water.After adding powder melamine and additivies and heating up to 90 o C.
when polymerization reaction is complated, statr cooling operation.For melamine-
formaldehyde resin reaction needs small reactor than urea-formaldehyde reactor.
( 12 – 15 m3 )
Production of the impregnation urea-formaldehyde resin can produce big or small
reactor with similar process.
D – UTILITIES AND STORAGE
Storage tanks for raw materials and product, cooling system, steam generator,
electric transformer,process water treatment, intrument air and etc.
Formaldehyde Plant
Main raw material is methanol for formaldehyde production. Methanol produces from natural gas.
Second material is iron molibden oxide catalyst. Methanol can keep the carbon steel tanks.
GLUE PLANT
Glue plants need more raw materials from Formaldehyde plant. Main raw material is formaldehyde which is producing formaldehyde plant.
Second main raw material is urea.
Other chemicals :
Melamine,Caprolactam,diethylene gylogol, formic acid,caustic soda,sulphric acid, ammonia, ammonium sulphate and ammonium cloride.
It is possible to produce powder melamine-formaldehyde resin for decor paper imp-
regnation. As above chemicals ( melamine,diethylene gylogol,caprolactam ) can use
for melamine-formaldehyde resins.
